Emma Halleen (born c. 1999–2000) is an American–British actor. She is best known for her feature film debut in Downtown Owl (2023) and a guest-starring role in American Horror Stories (2023).

Early life and education

Halleen was raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, and later moved to Los Angeles to pursue a professional acting career (CurtCo Media). She studied ballet and musical theatre in her childhood before the Storytellers Conservatory under Charles Carpenter (Actors Access).

Acting

Halleen made her feature film debut as Katie Hrlicka in Downtown Owl, co-directed by Lily Rabe and Hamish Linklater, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023 (StoryArk). She also appeared in FX’s anthology series American Horror Stories (season 3, episode “Bestie”) as Shelby Brubaker (Actors Access).

In addition to screen roles, she appeared as the lead in several American Film Institute (AFI) thesis films, including Children of Change, The Erl King, and Surrender, and starred in the CalArts thesis film Bind (StoryArk).

Halleen was raised in Stillwater, Minnesota, and holds dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship.
