She is primarily known for her involvement as the lead singer for the band Elita, which she started with her boyfriend, Timothy Rypien in 2018. The band has since released three exended plays, one mixtape, and one album.
Harkov began her musical career in 2018 when she released her debut single, "I Hate Everyone But You." She then released her first EP, Sick Girl, in 2019. In 2020, she released her second EP, Blood Sucker. Since then, she has released two follow-up singles: "Void" and "So Wet". Career
2011 - 2016: Acting
Harkov started her acting career in the short film I'm 14 and I Hate the World, directed by her father, Kenneth J. Harvey, playing the starring role.
In 2014 she had already recorded numerous songs, including "Red Stoned Heart" and "I'm 14 and I Hate the World".
For the following years, she had acted in several of her father's short films, her last role being Lucy on the TV show pilot Bucky. On her Tumblr, she stated that she stopped because she "didn't like her own acting".
2018 - 2023: Sick Girl, K-12, Blood Sucker, Anxiety Angel and Dysania
Prior to Harkov recording material for what would become her debut EP and mixtape, she and her boyfriend were working on writing a script to a movie, due to Elita's growing interest in cinematic arts. They also recorded a cover of The Velvet Underground's "After Hours" around this time.
In the end, they failed at writing the script, and they would write their first song together, "I Hate Everyone But You". Initially not intending to release the song, after recording a test demo, they released the song in 2018, starting the sessions for their EP, Sick Girl, and mixtape, Dysania. The official audio for the single was originally uploaded on YouTube on July 18, 2018. On August 19, 2018, she posted the song's official music video.
On June 21, 2019, Elita released their debut extended play (EP), Sick Girl. The EP is centered around the perspective of people in different mental states, each one presented by their song title. It had one music video for the song "Introverted", that was released on July 19, 2019.
Melanie Martinez released her theatrical film K-12 on September 6, 2019, in which Harkov plays the role of Angelita. The film was an online success, earning more than 30 million views on YouTube in less than a month. It also earned $303,230 in domestic box office being in theaters for only one night. She attended the premiere along with Melanie. It was her first time acting in a full length movie and her first since acting role since her appearance in Melanie's 2017 music video for "Mad Hatter".
Harkov posted on her story announcing a new EP on December 15, 2019. She said the EP is already fully written, but just needs to be recorded. She also announced that the EP will be released somewhere in 2020 and earlier in the year. On January 17, 2020, Elita released a single titled "Void", along with its respective music video. On May 1, Elita released their second extended play (EP), Blood Sucker on YouTube and was later released on all streaming platforms a few days later. The song, "R.I.P.", received a music video, premiered on May 5.
On August 10, 2021, Elita released a single titled "So Wet", its respective music video was released on August 25, 2021.
Elita announced a new EP on August 22, 2021, through an Instagram post saying, "Anxiety Angel coming this fall". The first single, "Sour Switchblade",[2][3] was released on all streaming platforms on September 2, 2021. The second single to release, "Satanic Slumber Party" was announced on October 1 and was partnered with a visualizer on Elita's YouTube page.[4]
On August 11, 2021, Elita announced their first international minitour called the Anxiety Angel Tour.
On October 21, 2021, Elita released their third extended play, Anxiety Angel, on all streaming platforms.
Elita released their debut mixtape titled Dysania[5][6] on March 22, 2023. The mixtape's release was supposed to have a tour accompanying it, but it was cancelled. The lead single, "Sleep Paralysis" on October 26, 2022, followed by "Mentally Not Here" on November 30, 2022, the third single, "She Bangs like a Fairy on Acid", on February 1, 2023, and the last single, "It's a Joke", on March 1, 2023.
2024 - 2025: Hell Hill
On January 30, 2024, Elita announced the Elita Tour[7] which started on May 4, 2024, and ended on May 22, 2024. On March 21, 2024, it was announced that Elita will be an opening artist at some shows on Melanie Martinez’s international tour, The Trilogy Tour. Whilst touring, "Televised Suicide", "Masturbating in a Coffin", "Unidentified Emotion", "Korean Karaoke Bar", "Ego", "Planet Paparazzi", and "Hell Hill" were played live.
On September 23, 2024, Elita released "Masturbating in a Coffin",[8] being the lead single to their debut studio album, Hell Hill. On December 4, 2024, Elita shared "Ego" on NTS Live, this was followed by the second official single, "Korean Karaoke Bar",[9] being released on December 13, 2024. The third single, "Girls on the Internet",[10][11] was released on January 31, 2025. On February 28, the fourth single, "Planet Paparazzi",[12] was released, the track list, release date, album name and artwork were all revealed,[13] as well as the whole album being accidentally leaked by Elita's manager.[7] Shortly after this leak Elita had discussed scrapping the whole album but eventually decided against it. The fifth and final single was the promotional single release of "Ego" on April 24, 2025.[14] The following day, on April 25, 2025, Hell Hill was released. [15]
On April 15, 2025, Elita announced her 2025 Hell Hill promotional tour. A photo of the setlist was posted, displaying a new song assumed to be from her second unnamed album titled "Sux to be You". The tour lasted from June 17[16] to June 28,[17] but the setlist was presumably scrapped as a different setlist was played that did not have the aforementioned song.[18]
