Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church
Emmanuel Lutheran Episcopal Church, Augusta, Maine.
Emmanuel Episcopal Lutheran Church is a federated worshiping community.[1] that is fully Lutheran (a member of the ELCA[2]) and fully Episcopalian (a parish of TEC[3]). The church was formed by the union of two previous worship communities[4]: Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Saint Mark's Episcopal Church. As such, the community draws people from many diverse backgrounds. The church building was built as a mission construction for the Lutheran Church in 1964[5] and has received two extensions over the years, which now house Bridging the Gap, a community initiative of the church, which operates social service programs, including a basic essentials pantry and a clothing closet[6]
