Enertrag (own spelling: ENERTRAG AG) is an internationally operating company in the field of renewable energies with headquarters in Schenkenberg-Dauerthal, Brandenburg (Germany). As an independent energy supplier from renewable sources, with the core business fields of wind power, solar power and power-to-gas, Enertrag builds and operates renewable energy systems primarily in Germany, France, Poland and South Africa.[2]

Jörg Müller founded Enertrag AG, headquartered in Stade, Lower Saxony, in October 1998.[3] In 2002, Enertrag expanded abroad for the first time and opened a wind farm in France. By 2013, the company had 520 wind turbines in Germany and abroad. In 2017, Enertrag had over 670 of its own wind turbines, producing more than 1.45 billion kWh of electricity annually. Worldwide, Enertrag is responsible for the support and monitoring of 1125 wind turbines through its subsidiary Enertrag WindStrom GmbH.[4]

The company holds two own brands with Procandela (own spelling procandela) as well as Gridion, for aircraft warning lights and uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for wind turbines.[5][6] Another subsidiary is Dark Sky GmbH that supplies on-demand nighttime lighting for wind turbines.[7][8]

Enertrag developed and built the Prenzlau renewable power plant in Brandenburg, Germany, a hybrid power plant that combines hydrogen, wind and biogas to generate electricity and thus provide energy at any time.[9] It was commissioned on October 25, 2011.[10]
