Entsar Amer (also spelled: Entissar Amer or Intissar Amer; Arabic: انتصار عامر), is the wife of the Sixth President of Egypt, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the First Lady of Egypt from 8 June 2014.
Biography[edit]
Amer is el-Sisi’s maternal cousin. They had started off in secondary school and married upon el-sisi's graduation from the Military Academy in 1977. The couple had four children. Three sons: Mustafa, Mahmoud and Hassan; and one daughter Aya. She has not pursued a career, preferring to raise her family. Upon her husband appointment as defence minister under Islamist president Mohamed Morsi, it was rumored on social media that she wore an ultra conservative veil, called a niqab, covering most of her face. The rumors were later dispelled, however, during her first public appearance at an event for retired military officers on February 2013, where she wore a more modestly conservative hijab. She is said to dislike public appearances and that she is likelier to follow the more timid Tahia Nasser model rather than the one of Jehan Sadat or Suzanne Mubarak. [1][2][3][4][5]
