Eric Hysen is an American government official serving as the chief information officer of the United States Department of Homeland Security.[1]

Education[edit]

Eric Hysen graduated from Harvard University with a degree in digital science.[2]

Career[edit]

Before serving in government, Hysen worked as a software engineer and manager at Google.[3]

On February 1, 2021 Hysen became chief information officer at the United States Department of Homeland Security. Hysen also served as executive director of the DHS Digital Service from September 2015 to March 2017.

Before serving at DHS, Hysen was a project manager in the United States Digital Service. Hysen worked as a member of the Biden–Harris transition on the Technology strategy and delivery team. Hysen has also worked as an advisor at the Office of Digital Innovation and National conference on citizenship and the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative.
