Eric Lauwers

Eric Lauwers is the current CEO of the Group AVEVE, market leader in agricultural and horticultural supplies in Belgium. Group AVEVE employs 1,900 people who realize an annual turnover of about € 1,3 billion[1]. This turnover puts the AVEVE Group among the top 100 Belgian companies[2] and although the company is rooted in Belgium, it has European footholds in the Netherlands, France and Germany. Its export market expands further including overseas customers in North America and Asia.

Career[edit]

Lauwers started his career in Sales & Marketing in FMCG companies such as Masterfoods and Nutricia. In 1995 he switched to Palm Breweries where he acquired several awards for his work as Marketing Director. After 5 years at Palm, Lauwers took up the position of Marketing Director at Interbrew, home to beer brands such as Jupiler, Stella artois and Leffe. In this position Lauwers received the distinguished  ‘Marketeer of the year’ award in 2001[3].

Lauwers then signed up as Director On Trade in the Netherlands, Commercial director and Route-to-market Director for the Business Unit BeNeFraLux from 2003 to 2005. In 2005 Lauwers took his first role as General Manager for AB InBev in the Netherlands.

After 2 years Lauwers moved on to Business Unit President of different countries, such as Germany, The Netherlands and Belgium between 2007 and 2015, growing market share and combining results with leadership and people engagement. In 2009 he received the honor of Master Marketeer.[4]

He earned a Master Degree in Commercial and Financial Sciences in Belgium.
