Early life and education
Mackey was born in 1970, likely in Alabama[1]. He graduated from Jacksonville State University with a BA in the early 1990s.
Mackey went on to graduate from the University of Alabama with a (MA) and then a (Doctoral) from the same university.
Career
Mackey began his career as a teacher in 1993, teaching physics at a High School level.[2] Following different teaching positions, he became the Superintendent of Jacksonville City School from 2002 to 2011.
