Erich Caparas is a Filipino–American[1] photographer who has worked with National Geographic as well as other clients and organizations, including the White House. Caparas is a member of the Master Photographers Association (MPA)[2] and Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP).[3]
Life and work[edit]
Caparas, born in the Philippines, moved to the United States shortly after, where he grew up in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area. He finished his early education from Langley High School in Fairfax County, Virginia.[4] He pursued a career earlier in engineering and received a degree in economics and engineering from George Washington University. He Worked for a while in graphic design and photography in New York City and Washington DC.[5]
Caparas started professional photography in 1977.[6] He beta tested Photoshop before Adobe purchased it and consulted with them when they introduced layers in 1993-94.[5] He furthered Studied Engineering at George Mason University.[4]
