The Eritrean Satellite Television (ERISAT) is a non-profit digital platform that provides over-the-air content to its Eritrean audience inside and outside Eritrea. Founded in October 2018 by diaspora Eritreans, ERISAT aims to disseminate fact-based news, inform, educate, create awareness, and bridge the information gap among Eritreans.
ERISAT strives to be Eritrea's Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and offers programming in various languages including Afar, Arabic, Bilen, and Tigrinya. With a commitment to journalistic integrity, fairness, and impartiality, ERISAT aims to provide accurate information, and project hope, and optimism throughout its programming.
ERISAT is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization incorporated in the State of California, USA, as of November 2018.
ERISAT states that its mission is to provide trusted, responsible, and impartial journalism that informs, engages, entertains, and empowers Eritrea's diverse communities. The organization envisions itself as a platform that fosters dialogue, engagement, and tolerance among Eritreans both inside and outside Eritrea, contributing to democratic culture and justice in the country.
Programming[edit]
ERISAT produces diverse content that reflects the political, social, economic, and cultural life of Eritreans. Its programming includes news segments, documentaries, talk shows, cultural programs, educational content, and more. The organization strives to create innovative and locally relevant content that informs, entertains, and inspires its audience.
