Erkebek Abdulaev
Erkebek Sagynbekovich Abdulaev (Russian:Эркебек Сагынбекович Абдулаев; January 31, 1952 - June 11, 2011) was a former KGB colonel. He was born on January 31, 1952 in the Kirov region of the Kyrgyz SSR. He has worked in the departments of the KGB of the USSR and the KGB of the Kyrgyz SSR between 1980 and 1982. In 1982 he graduated from the Minsk school of the KGB of the USSR. Between 1982 and 1990 he was a participant in military operations in Afghanistan and Transcaucasia. After the 1991 coup, he resigned from the KGB as a Lieutenant Colonel. He became engaged in activities at the Academy of the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation. From 1994 to 1996, he was a military consultant for the magazine Soldier of Fortune. On January 13, 2011, he was awarded the Order of Margelov for his military service. He died in Moscow on June 11, 2011.[1][2][3][4]
