Estanislao Lugo-Viña y Molina was a Spanish official and nobleman who was born in La Orotava, Tenerife on June 20, 1753. He was the brother of Francisco Lugo-Viña Molina (1752-1809), a scholar of the Enlightenment, and José de Lugo-Viña y Molina (1754-1835), a diplomat and politician. He studied in his hometown and in the convent of San Francisco de Gran Canaria from 1768 to 1770.
Life[edit]
He served as secretary of state for foreign affairs under King Joseph Bonaparte during the French occupation of Spain (1808-1813). He was also appointed as ambassador to Russia, Prussia and Austria, but he did not take up these posts due to the Napoleonic wars. He was loyal to Joseph Bonaparte until his death in 1833. He died in Bordeaux on August 25, 1833.
