Esther Maria Charlotte Kuhn (born June 2, 1980.[1] in Salzburg) is an Austrian Actress. She is known [2] for the German TV-Series Die Rosenheim-Cops [3] and the Movie Welcome to Germany [4]. Her accolades include Grimme Award für "The Love Europe Project" [5], the Horvath-Award and the Award oft he Academy of Performing arts fort he ZDF drama Kasimir und Karoline [6], as well as the audience award of the Bavarian Film Award, a Lola and a Jupiter Award for Welcome to Germany.
Early Life and Education[edit]
As a five year old Esther Kuhn attended a William Forsythe William Forsythe dance ballet in Rome. The dancers as well as William Forsythe himself would dance threw the audience, Kuhn started to dance among them. Finally William Forsythe brought her on stage to bow with the rest oft he company at the end oft he play. That was when Kuhn's aspiration to become an actress took off.
During Kuhn's elementary school years she acted in some smaller parts for stage. She attended middle and high school acting classes as well as dancing and singing classes. During high school she stood in front of the film camera for the first time, supporting in German TV-Series "Dr. Schwarz und Dr. Martin" and Der Bergdoktor. [7]
She studied film and theater sciences at the University of Vienna [8] and acting at the University for Music and Theater Munich. Kuhn graduated summa cum laude.

Theater[edit]
In the beginning Esther Kuhn aspired a theatrical career. She was acting for various German and Austrian Theaters, among these: Residence Theatre, Theater of the City of Regensburg [9], Theater Fürth [10], Münchner Volkstheater and Komödie im Bayerischen Hof [11] in Munich.
Television and Film[edit]
In 2008 she deputed in the ARD television movie "Mit einem Schlag". Following up the award winning ZDF TV film Kasimir und Karoline[12]. After this Kuhn focused her career on television drama and film. Kuhn achieved her breakthrough[13] with her part in Welcome to Germany, the biggest German box office hit in 2016. [14]
Other big screen films are "The Love Europe Project"[15] Grimme Award and Nightlife, that earned a German film Award as biggest box office income in German theaters in 2020. [16]
She continued her work for the television series Die Rosenheim-Cops, followed up by roles for Tatort and Polizeiruf 110[citation needed] as well as other roles for television, Um Himmels Willen [13], SOKO Kitzbühel, Die Bergretter, and Familie Dr. Kleist. ]] [17]

Kuhn was also working as a model. She walked her first show at the age of 14. Kuhn performed over 200 shows for several labels among them Gerry Weber and Marc O'Polo and has modeled for Campaigns and product endorsements.

Esther Kuhn is sponsor for Plan International standing up for human rights for children, especially girls and young women througout the globe.
Personal Life[edit]
Kuhn is an enthusiast in languages. She is speaking 5 languages on a fluent level. Joined by Latin as sixth written language. Kuhn has been raised partly in Italy and the USA, therefore she is speaking German, English and Italian on a mother tongue level. Joined by French and Spanish on a fluent level. She declared Grammar as her passion.
