Estonia 18 is a racing car designed and built by Tallinna Autode Remondi Katsetehas. By design, Estonia 18 was almost identical to the model Estonia-16M.
In 1976, the production of an improved modification Estonia 18-M started, which had radiators on the sides of the cockpit and a wedge-shaped bow and it was equipped with a VAZ-21011 engine, which, in terms of its engine capacity (1294 cm³), almost perfectly met the technical requirements of the Formula Easter. The production of Estonia 18-M continued through 1977 inclusive; the total output of both modifications amounted to 128 cars. In racing, individual copies were used until the early 1980s. Racers who competed with -18 and -18 won six gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals from different Soviet Union championships. [1]
Until now, seven or eight cars Estonia-18 and 18-M have been preserved, one of which was radically redesigned to participate in the Moscow Classic Grand Prix races and the rest belong to automobile museums and collectors.
