Ethan Smallwood (born 19th June 1998), commonly known as Doctor Ethan,[1] is a British physician who gained public attention during the COVID-19 pandemic for creating health awareness and health-related content on social media platforms.[2][3]

Education and career[edit]

Ethan was born in 1998 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.[4] He attended Solihull School and earned the Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS) at Nottingham University. He completed his medical degree in the summer of 2021.[5]

Ethan then started practising in the National Health Service.[3] During the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to document his experiences in order to help other students.[6] He started educating the masses about medicine through his social accounts which amassed half a million followers on Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.[7]
