Ettore Casadei (born 23 March 1999) is an Italian footballer who plays as a forward for the Florida Tech Panthers of the Florida Institute of Technology.

Club career[edit]

Senior career in Italy[edit]

Born in Ravenna in Italy, Casadei began his career with Cervia.[1] He went on to join Romagna Centro, scoring nine goals in the 2017–18 Serie D.[2] Following the dissolution of professional side AC Cesena in 2018, Romagna Centro adopted the club's identity, claiming to be their phoenix club and renaming themselves Cesena FC, and Casadei remained with the club, scoring twice in the 2018–19 campaign.[2][3] In December 2018, he moved to fellow Serie D side Vigor Carpaneto on a short-term loan deal.[1][4] In total, he made five league appearances with Vigor Carpaneto.[5]

In July 2019, he signed with Alfonsine, expressing his eagerness to contribute to the team, stating that he "really want[ed] to start".[6] He had a short spell with Del Duca Ribelle in early 2020, before joining Savignanese in August of the same year.[7][8]

Collegiate soccer[edit]

In early 2021, Casadei moved to the United States, enrolling at the Old Dominion University, where he joined the university soccer team, the Old Dominion Monarchs.[9] In his first year, officially the 2020 season, but moved to early 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team and was an All-State Second Team honouree.[9]

After one more season with the Old Dominion Monarchs, he transferred to the Florida Institute of Technology, where he again played for their soccer team, the Florida Tech Panthers.[10] Ahead of his first season with the university's soccer team, he returned to Italy in January 2022 for a short spell with former club Savignase.[11]

Personal life[edit]

Casadei's brother, Cesare, is also a footballer, and currently plays for English Premier League side Chelsea.[10]
