Eugene Brown Agyei

Eugene Brown Nyarko Agyei is a Ghanaian freelance journalist and Digital Content Creator. Eugene comes from Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He founded The Accra Times, an independent online news website that publishes news articles and long form reads from Ghana and Africa. Eugene Brown Agyei graduated from the University of Ghana in 2016 where he read English with History. In 2017, he went back to the same university to study for an MPhil in Communication Studies at the Department of Communication Studies. While reading for his MPhil, he was appointed as a Graduate Assistant at the  same department.


In March 2018, Eugene Brown Agyei joine Yen.com.gh as an online editor and left in July 2018. He has also worked as a reporter in the UNESCO Youth Newsroom - the millenial newsroom that reports activities on World Press Freedom Day every year - in both Ghana and Ethiopia(2018 and 2019). He has done several freelance works for international and local news organzations. His works have been featured Ghana News Agency, Quartz, Wellbeing for Women, Yen.com.gh, UNESCO Youth Times.
