Eugene Gonsalves
Eugene Gonsalves is an Indian entrepreneur and has held leadership positions in religious organizations such as the Catholic Association of Bengal and the All India Catholic Union.
Early life
Gonsalves is the fifth son of seven sons born to Cosme John and Caroline Gonsalves. Gonsalves was born on 11 September at Amla in Dist. Betul of Madhya Pradesh State in India. He did his schooling up to Class X in Kendriya Vidyalaya Amla Air Force Station and then finished his Class XI and XII at Kendriya Vidyalaya Vayusenanagar Nagpur, Maharashtra State India. He did his graduation in commerce from Dhanwatey National College in Nagpur in 1986 and MBA from Nagpur University in 1989.
Career
He has worked as a manager in MP Veneer & Plywood Pvt. Ltd Nagpur for three years until 1993 and then at Kitply Industries Ltd Kolkata India until November 2006 when he resigned as President. Thereafter, he started his own company, EVEE Commercial Co., in 2006 and United Ply & Wood Industries in 2010. He is CEO of both companies. His areas of business include plywood, interior designing, solar power and pharmaceutical distribution. He was President of Catholic Association of Bengal since 2002. He served as the National President of All India Catholic Union from 2012 to 2016. He was one of the youngest persons to serve as the President, which is considered prestigious. Recently he has retired as the President of AICU, but still continues to serve the community. He is active as a social worker and continues to help in areas where needed. He has leadership qualities and never leaves a project unfinished. He is a hardworking individual. Apart from social work, his expertise can be used in the areas of Management, Marketing, Finance, Training and Development. He has a dream of starting his own NGO.
