Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School, abbreviated as ESDPES, is a public elementary school located in Borongan, Eastern Samar in the Philippines. The school was named after the Filipino revolutionary Eugenio Daza, the school was also previously named the Borongan Pilot Elementary School. As of 2018, the school had 2,096 pupils.

History[edit]

Borongan Municipal School[edit]

After earning a degree in education in 1888, Eugenio Daza taught in the Borongan Municipal School, eventually owning the school under the Spanish administration. He left in 1896 to fight in the 1896 revolution.[1][2]

Borongan Pilot Elementary School[edit]

Republic Act. 5012, issued on June 17, 1967, officially changed the name of the elementary school from Borongan Pilot Elementary School to Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School, in honor of the Filipino revolutionary Eugenio S. Daza.[3][4][5]

Eugenio S. Daza Pilot Elementary School[edit]

In 2017, multiple school buildings were built for the school, from the 2017 Basic Educational Facilities Fund Batch 14 of the Department of Education (DepEd), with a contract amount of P16.53 million.[6]
