EuroTube is a non-profit research organisation and incubator for sustainable vacuum transportation technologies, also known as Hyperloop or Vactrain concept.[1] EuroTube is currently developing a 3km (1.8 mile)-long test facility in Collombey-Muraz, Switzerland.[2] The organisation was founded in 2017 at ETH Zürich as a Swiss association and in 2019 reformed to a Swiss foundation.[3]

AlphaTube

EuroTube's team of engineers and scientists is currently planning the construction of a European public research infrastructure for high-speed vacuum transportation in the canton of Valais, Switzerland - called the AlphaTube.[4] The AlphaTube test infrastructure allows test and research vehicles to be operated in a target speed regime of up to 900 km/h. The 3km long test track is expected to be the first European test track open to external groups for research, engineering, and prototyping and, possibly, the longest in the world at completion.[5] EuroTube is currently in the process of filing for construction permits[6] and plans to start with the construction of the AlphaTube in spring 2021.[7]

Technologies

In addition, EuroTube is conducting several research and development projects, such as in the field of vacuum valves, pumping systems, linear motors, levitation systems, power electronics, concrete material technologies, and industrial tube production.[8]
