Europass Teacher Academy is a private provider of professional development courses for teachers. Founded in Florence in 2009 from the Europass Italian Language School, it mainly operates within the Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1), where, with 7,000 teachers trained per year, it is the largest provider.
Today, even though the Teacher Academy headquarters remains in Florence, Italy, Europass has local branches in Barcelona (Europass Academy of Creativity), Dublin (Europass Teacher Academy Ireland), and Berlin (Europass Berlin).
Apart from the four main locations, Europass Teacher Academy has a network of partner institutions where professional courses for teachers are held every year, such as Athens, Nice, and Helsinki.[2].
Europass offers teacher training courses in a wide range of academic disciplines, such as well-being, arts, ICT, soft skills, special needs education, and classroom management.
The training provider is accredited by the Region of Tuscany[3] and some of the teacher training courses are also accredited by the Italian Ministry of Education[4] and by the Irish Department of Education[5].
Europass also provides CELTA training (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) being accredited by the University of Cambridge[6].
