European Association for Body Psychotherapy

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

The European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP) is a professional association for practicing body psychotherapists in Europe.

It currently (2013) has about 750 accredited members on its Register of European Body Psychotherapists. These are organised into a Council of National Associations for body psychotherapists in Switzerland, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Spain, Russia, United Kingdom, & Serbia.

The 20+ accredited training schools in Body psychotherapy that are accredited according to the EABP Training Standards are organised in the Forum of Body Psychotherapy Organisations which meets annually.

EABP organises bi-annual conferences in Body psychotherapy and the National Associations also organise their own conferences and symposia.

Body psychotherapy is a 'mainstream' branch of psychotherapy with many 'modalities' and is recognised by the European Association of Psychotherapy (EAP) as a "scientifically valid" branch of psychotherapy.

EABP has a 'sister' organisation in the USA, the United States Association for Body Psychotherapy (USABP).
