Future technologies such as artificial intelligence, 3D printing and autonomous vehicles are rapidly emerging and enabling new solutions and business models that are transforming industries and societies worldwide.[1]. The digital competitiveness of countries and companies describes their ability to compete in these digital future technologies. The European Center for Digital Competitiveness has the mission to contribute to Europe’s digital competitiveness and to inspire a responsible application of technology that benefits society. [2]

The center publishes various annual studies on the digital competitiveness of countries: The Digital Report summarizes the state of digital transformation in Germany.[3] The Digital Riser Report, published in cooperation with the World Economic Forum, ranks 140 nations worldwide based on their progress in future technologies.[4][5][6]. The report highlights the strategies used by top digital risers in each region to achieve their progress, inspiring learning and global collaboration around national digital strategies.[7][8][9][10].
