Evan Alex (born May 5, 2008) is an American actor. Alex is best known for his breakout performance as Jason Wilson and Pluto in the 2019 Jordan Peele horror film Us.[1][2]
Early life[edit]
Alex was born in Baltimore, Maryland on May 5, 2008. [3] He is the youngest of three children. His sister, Raigan Alex, and brother, Grant Alex, are also child actors. [3]
Career[edit]
Alex got his start as a child actor in 2016 starring in the web series Kids Reenact as a baby Pharrell Williams in a parody of The Voice and Trai Byers' Andre in another parody for Empire.[3][4]The 10-year-old actor also appeared in over a dozen short films[5] including 'The Kid', 'Eight' alongside his brother, Grant Alex, and as a pint-sized Nick Fury in 'Baby Avengers' with Drake Bell.[3]
Alex is also known for playing Jake in YouTube's Brat channel series Mani and has made appearances on numerous TV shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live! and Sesame Street. In 2018, Alex played the role of Ralph in Showtime's Kidding with Jim Carrey.[3][4][6]
Alex, who studied in his local school district’s Gifted & Talented Conservatory of Fine Arts[5] read for the dual roles of Jason Wilson and Pluto in Us three times before being offered the part.[5] In 2019, he attended the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, where 'Us' was the opening night film. Personal Life[edit]
Alex is a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and wants to play a superhero, particularly Azari from Black Panther. [1][8] [9] When Evan is not acting, he also plays basketball with his brother, Grant Alex. [3]
