Early Life

Evander McElroy (January 7th, 1997) is an American film maker and student from San Francisco, CA. He is best known for creating the Dick Pound YouTube short films and his short-lived book series, OOP.

He was born at San Francisco General Hospital (now Zuckerberg General Hospital) on January 7th, 1997, to Brett Whorton and Laurie McElroy. Not much is known about his life as a baby, except that his father was not very involved.

Evander attended Rooftop Elementary School and Rooftop Middle School. He also attended the Academy of Arts and Sciences for a few months before transferring to Gateway High School around March 2012.

In 2015, Evander graduated high school and moved to Portland, OR. He later moved back, as the living situation with his father was unstable.

Career

Evander began his career around 2012, creating silly comics (now lost). The most well-known comic was about a bug named "Fun Bug". By 2013, he transitioned to making short films using MS Paint and iMovie. The most notable of these is *Dick Pound*, a series about a man who thinks he's important but is actually a loser.

  • Dick Pound* gained popularity after Evander moved to Oregon for the first time. He produced the films semi-regularly until September 2018, when his mother passed away. This hiatus has been intermittent, but there has not been a new *Dick Pound* episode since then.

Evander has also released a few music singles under the Dick Pound moniker.

Personal Life

Evander met his future spouse, Trinity, in 2016. They moved to Oregon and married in 2019. Together, they have three cats: Chunk (formerly known as Chunkbert Astro Boy Cat), Puddin' Pop, and Smidge. They reside in Portland, OR.
