The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Nepal is a Reformed Presbyterian denomination in Nepal, formed in 1999 by Korean Presbyterian missionary Dr. Yakub Yeonjeong Kim.[1][2]

History[edit]

In 1999, Rev. Dr. Yakub Yeonjeong Kim, a Korean Presbyterian missionary, moved to Nepal and started church planting. As membership grew, local pastors were ordained and the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Nepal was organized.[3]

Between 2005 and 2013, Rev. Sangam KC was the moderator of the denomination. After that, Rev. Hemraj Jarga Magar became the moderator of the denomination.[4][5]

In 2015, the denomination received help from international organizations to rebuild churches destroyed in the 2015 Nepal earthquake.[6][7]

Inter-ecclesiastical relations[edit]

The denomination has good relations with the Nepali Reformed Churches and the Aashish Presbyterian Free Church in Nepal (APFCN). In 2013, at a Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Nepal pastor's ordination ceremony, pastors from these two churches were invited.[3]
