Ever is a Finnish Christian metal band formed in 2021 in Kisko. It´s founded by three brothers; Reino (Lead singer and guitar), Veikka (Guitar), Leo (Drums). Their playing is inspired by bands like Van Halen, Reckless Love, Mr. Big, and Extreme, but to name one band which has the most impact on their music, that’s definitely Stryper. Brothers were strongly impressed by Stryper´s way to compose solos, play drums, and what’s most important, the meaningful lyrics with a good message.

Ever performed their first gig in March 2021 in Salo. They played 5 songs, which all were recorded and can be found on Youtube. At the moment they play only cover songs, mostly Stryper, but there are also Bon Jovi, Bloodgood, and Holy Soldier songs on a setlist.

The beginning

Brothers' passion for playing rock started little by little in 2018 when the oldest brother Veikka (born in 2010) got his first guitar; short scale cheap Jackson which needed to be tuned to F, to be able to have it at least almost in tune. In the beginning, Reino (born in 2012) was playing drums, but later (in the Christmas holidays 2019) boys realized Leo’s (born in 2015) potential as a drummer and Reino wanted to have a more visible role in a band as a lead singer. At the same time, Reino started to learn guitar playing. From the beginning and by the influence of Stryper, boys wanted to include background vocals in their music, as Veikka and Leo both sings bg´s in the band.

Music

Ever´s musical style is Christian metal, Glam metal, and Hard rock. The Christian message is in the heart of the band´s identity. Their playing is developing all the time, as they constantly practice new things from several musicians: From guitarists like Nuno Bettencourt, Oz Fox, Michael Sweet, Paul Gilbert, Eddie Van Halen, and Pepe. From drummers like Robert Sweet, Simon Phillips, Kevin Figueiredo, Pat Torpey, and Jeff Porcaro From singers like Michael Sweet, Michael Jackson, James Hetfield and David Lee Roth. Brothers have got some help especially in guitar playing from their father, who also performs as Ever´s bass player occasionally, but they’re also pretty active users of Youtube and Songster -app to learn all those small details by themselves. Leo learns drums basically by watching Robert Sweet on Youtube.
