Everil Worrell
Everil Worrell (November 3, 1893 - November 27, 1969) was an American writer of Gothic, horror, and speculative fiction. Her stories appeared in the publication Weird Tales.[1][2]
Biography
Everil Worrell was born on November 3, 1893, in Loop City, Nebraska. She was an only child and lived in several states during her early childhood when her family moved several times for her father's job in education. When Worrell was thirteen, her father took a job in Washington, D.C., and that was where Worrell spent the remainder of her childhood. Worrell attended George Washington University, graduating with a BA in 1915. Worrell married Joseph Charles Murphy in 1926, the same year she sold her first story to Weird Tales magazine. Worrell continued to write for the magazine until it folded in 1954. [2]
