Search

On October 7th, 2021, a user by the name of carl92 posted a 17-second recording on the website "WatZatSong" with the info "Pop - English".[1] It is unknown who recorded the song, but Carl has mentioned it may have been him learning to capture audio in the late 1990s.

At around August 2023, the clap was found to be from a Linn 9000, the snare was found to be from a LinnDrum, likely sent through an AMS RMX 16 reverberation system, and the kick was found to be from an Alesis HR-16 electronic drum.

The sample that was posted on WatZatSong is also slightly off key, with the correct key being A sharp.

Lyrics

The song has multiple interpreted lyrics, but the lyrics below are the most widely regarded.

You're counting all the sheep, in the sky
Caught up in a world of lies
Everyone knows that, (you('ve) got)
Ulterior motives
(Tell me the truth)
Every move shows- Only known recording ends here

Proposed variations

  • You're counting all the sheep in disguise, caught up in a world of lies
  • You're counting on the shifts in the tides
  • You carry all your shame in disguise
  • You're counting all the shapes in the sky, caught up in a world of lies
