Evgeny Kuzin
Evgeny Kuzin (born 15 June 1985) is a Russian restaurateur and club proprietor. He is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Bulldozer Group, which specialises in the development and management of luxury restaurants, nightclubs and bars in Dubai, UAE.[1]
Early life
He was surrounded by the F&B industry from a young age. His father opened his first restaurant when Evgeny was 10 years old, and it became a significant part of his childhood. “It would be easy to say that there really was no escaping this industry for me.”[2]
Career
Kuzin formed Bulldozer Group in partnership with Maxim Vlasov and Alexander Orlov in 2011 when they launched their first concept, Movida nightclub from London in the Radisson Royal Hotel, Dubai. Soon after, they introduced St Tropez VIP Room to Dubai. Bulldozer Group went on to open Monaco nightspot, Sass Café in 2014, followed by Australian born contemporary Japanese concept, TOKO that was launched during that same year in the Vida Downtown Dubai.[3]
Kuzin partnered with Arkady Novikov in early 2015 to launch Novikov Dubai.[4] In 2016, his partnership with Giuseppe Cipriani launched Cipriani DIFC, which was followed shortly after by the opening of Socialista Dubai, Cipriani’s Private Members Club.[5]
In 2017, Bulldozer Group launched home grown super-club named BASE in Dubai Design District d3.[6] The open-air nightclub hosts performances by international artists including Jennifer Lopez[7] David Guetta[8] and Marco Carola to name a few.[9]
2018 has made a significant mark in Bulldozer Group’s progress, as Kuzin’s focus returned to the luxurious concepts he has become renowned for. In January, Kuzin and his team opened Scalini, a charismatic Italian restaurant from London in the Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah, Dubai, followed by the opening of New York nightlife venue 1 OAK Dubai, Lebanese cocktail lounge Seven Sisters in April, and DIFC seafood destination, Crab Market with Russian Chef Vladimir Mukhin.[10]
His latest venture, GAIA DIFC, opened in October 2018 and was developed in collaboration with Chef Izu Ani with the aim of creating an authentic home-grown concept for Dubai’s dynamic restaurant scene.[11]
Evgeny Kuzin has plans to open additional outlets across the GCC region, including London concept China Tang in 2019.[12]
Personal life
Evgeny is married to Ekaterina Kuzin and they have two daughters, Eva (born 7 February 2013) and Elizaveta (born 12 September 2011). “I dedicate what little time I have outside work to my family. I’m ready to do whatever my wife and daughters want to; seeing them happy relaxes me.”[13] They live in Dubai, UAE.
