Ewan Windebank is a Hong Kongese filmmaker. His first debut as a scriptwriter, director and editor came on the 13th of February, 2018, when he released The Recital[1], which was shortlisted and won Best Film[2] at the Across Asia Youth Film Festival. He has since continued filmmaking as mentioned in his interviews with the South China Morning Post [1]and Australia New Zealand Association (ANZA).[3]
In early 2019, he released three separate indie films onto his YouTube channel, Windebank Productions, one of which went on to be put into the official selection of the Across Asia Youth Film Festival 2019.[4] and also won Best Performance at the Dubai Youth Film Festival.[5]
He is also a notable activist for the environment, being one of the leaders of the student-led group Climate Action Hong Kong which follows the goals of Fridays for Future and School Strike for Climate.[6] He has also spoken at a number of events advocating climate action[7] and has spoken to press to raise awareness for climate change as well as his group's aims and activities.[8]
He currently attends Rosaryhill Secondary School,[9] which he represents to compete for various academic awards in Hong Kong[10], such as Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Outstanding Student Awards[11]
