The ExO Model[edit]

Massive Transformative Purpose[edit]

The Massive Transformative Purpose (MTP) reflects an organization’s aspiration—the core purpose of its existence[3]. In the research into the book the authors found that every Exponential Organization had an MTP. [4] The Book explains that the MTP is not a mission or vision statement but rather a guiding principle or North Star. It is suggested that the MTP statement is a short statement that is highly aspirational. Since the publishing of the Book numerous articles have been written on Massive Transformative Purpose outlining examples of the Massive Transformative Purposes of organizations from around the world that many people will know[5] [6] [7] [8].

The External SCALE Attributes[edit]

The SCALE attributes refer to how an organization can leverage the abundance that exists outside of the organization. The 5 attributes are outlined below[9].

Staff on Demand[edit]

This refers to people outside of your organization that perform a function for your organization that provides value to the organization[10].

Community and Crowd[edit]

Algorithms[edit]

In a world with massive amounts of data, the algorithm attribute asks organizations how you are translating the data into valuable information and insights[12].
