The Ezelius' adjustable grip hitch is a slip and grip knot that gives good grip and has a wide range of uses. It functions well on a wide range of rope materials, including slippery types like polyamide (nylon) and high-modulus polyethylene (Dynema™). Attaching cord can be of the same or smaller diameter. The hitch functions in one direction.
History
The knot has been published in the magazine "Knotting Matters" of the International Guild of Knot Tyers in the June 2020 issue. The knot is named after the inventor, Kasper Ezelius (born in 1969 in Örebro, Sweden).
Usage
It has a wide range of uses. It has probably not yet been properly tested for safety-critical applications, such as climbing.
Tying
Ezelius' hitch is made by making two turns and tucking the end under the turns as shown in the images below. The knot is tightened by hand in order to achieve the desired friction.
