History[edit]

Ezlogz idea was structured by Sergey [ci':jei] Karman, who was inspired to alleviate time-consuming procedures, e.g., handling paperwork, finding truck-stops, or calculating IFTA, for truck drivers and fleet managers.[3]

Before implementing the idea of the fleet-management platform, Karman was involved in the logistics industry as an over-the-road driver, fleet-owner, broker, and safety director for 10 years. Sergey Karman anticipated the company to be a dispatch-logistics platform, that will link the industry on the blockchain technology.[1]

Karman decided to learn the basics of Java and programming in order to build a team of developers, who worked from home in Ukraine.[3] He started working on the project together with the team while running his fleet in the United States. In 2015, Ezlogz was officially founded with the corporate headquarters in Vancouver, WA, and a co-working office in Kyiv, Ukraine. The first app version with point-of-interest maps and document center features was launched by November 2016.[1][4]

In 2017, the company started the implementation of the blockchain.[5] The technology of decentralized network was expected to equip with audits for electronic logging devices and truck drivers’ hours of service (HOS).[6][7] Ezlogz is considered to be the first provider of the blockchain-based electronic logging devices in the US. [1]

By the end of 2018, the company released a new version update with the trip planning and truck navigation features. In 2018 Ezlogz opened its first branch office in Kyiv, Ukraine.

The application was developed according to the AOBRD regulations,[8] and after the FMSCA announced the Electronic Logging Device Final Rule in December 2016: [9]“…in this rule, the Agency clarifies its supporting document requirements, recognizing that ELD records serve as the most robust form of documentation for on-duty driving periods…” – developers released a new version that was compliant to the ELD requirements.[10][11]

To build-up and enhance the client base, Karman decided to concentrate on presenting Ezlogz as a multilingual logistics social platform with customer support in English, Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and French languages.[3][12]

Initially, the company focused on providing products and services for the United States of America but has since added users across Canada.

In May 2018, United States Patent and Trademark Office issued Ezlogz Inc. a patent of Class 9 category: “Computer application software for mobile phones, namely, software for trucking and logistics management.”[citation needed]

By the end of 2019, the company opened branch office in Schaumburg, IL.[13]
