FHR Anlagenbau GmbH is a market leader in design and manufacturing custom-made vacuum coating equipment for the production of thin film layers for different industries. FHR's headquarters is located in Ottendorf-Okrilla near Dresden in the state of Saxony, Germany.

FHR Anlagenbau GmbH was founded in 1991 after reunification of Germany by three of the former VEB Elektromat Dresden engineers.[1] [2] The name FHR is composed from the initials of the last name of the three founders; Reinhard Fendler, Wolfgang Hentsch and Christian Ränsch. The company was primarily located in Dresden area but it was moved to Ottendorf-Okrilla about 20km north of Dresden back in 1993. The company became a fully owned subsidiary of centrotherm photovoltaics AG in 2008.
Industry field[edit]
FHR serves different areas including photovoltaics, microelectromechanical systems, sensors, optics, flexible electronics, solar selective coatings and display industries.[3] FHR specializes in vacuum deposition techniques including sputtering, thermal evaporation, plasma-enhanced chemical vapour deposition and atomic layer deposition.
