FK Sarajevo is a football club based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, founded on 24 October 1946, and it plays its home matches at the Asim Ferhatović Hase Stadium.[1][2]

The club was established through the merger of the physical culture societies Sloboda and Udarnik under the name Torpedo, inherited Udarnik’s position and results in the Republic League of Bosnia and Herzegovina, earned promotion to the Yugoslav First League in the 1946–47 season, and on 5 October 1947, following a proposal by Mirko Ostojić, changed its name from Torpedo to Sarajevo.[3]

Among the club's greatest domestic achievements are two Yugoslav First League titles, five Bosnia and Herzegovina Premier League titles, eight Bosnia and Herzegovina Cup titles, and one Bosnia and Herzegovina Super Cup title.[1] [2]

On the international stage, FK Sarajevo has reached the quarter-finals of the Mitropa Cup, the round of 16 of the European Cup, the round of 16 of the UEFA Cup, the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League, and the UEFA Europa League play-offs on three occasions.[1]

In September 2023, Meridianbet became the official sponsor of FK Sarajevo, describing the club's rich history and sporting achievements as part of its long-term commitment to supporting sport and socially responsible initiatives in Bosnia and Herzegovina.[4]
