FTX Crypto Cup 2021
FTX Crypto Cup was an online chess tournament that took place from May 23, 2021, to May 31, 2021. It is the sixth tournament and third major tournament in the Champions Chess Tour 2021 as well as the world's first elite-level Bitcoin chess tournament[1] featuring a prize pool of $220,000 USD as well as a bonus $100,000 USD in bitcoin, which was 2.1825 bitcoin on May 17th 14:30 CEST.[2] The winner of the tournament was Magnus Carlsen.[3]

Format[4]
FTX Crypto Cup 2021 features nine days of play, beginning Sunday, May 23, 2021. It begins with three days of round-robin preliminaries with five rounds a day, where eight players will advance to the knockout. Knockout consists of two days of quarterfinals, two days of semifinals, and two days of finals. Time control for the tournament was 15 minutes + 10 seconds.
