Fabeha Monir is a visual journalist based in Bangladesh.[1][2][3][4][5] She works for Al Jazeera, Asian Development Bank & World Health Organization.

Career

Fabeha is a female photojournalist,[6][7][8][9] filmmaker, and writer who uses still images, text, and video to tell in-depth human stories.[10] Her work explores marginalized communities, including social development, migration, gender violence, and forced exile. She contributes to the New York Times,[11] The Guardian,[12] Al Jazeera News,[13] and BBC News, as well as works for non-profit organizations such as Oxfam and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.[14][15]

Fabeha earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Visual Journalism from Ateneo de Manila University and also studied a One-Year Certificate in Documentary and Visual Journalism at the International Center of Photography (ICP). She is a fellow of the National Press Photographers Association, the Asian Center for Journalism, and the Population Reference Bureau. She has received recognition for her work, including the 2021 Yannis Behrakis Photojournalism Grant Award from the Thomson Reuters Foundation.[16]

She has reported from Bangladesh, Nepal and Greece.[17]
