Facedrive
Facedrive is a rideshare application available for both iPhone and Android smartphone operating systems based out of Toronto (Scarborough), Ontario, Canada. It resembles its competitor applications' layouts, which makes it familiar and easy for those who have experience using the more mainstream Uber and Lyft applications. Booking a ride takes only the click of a single button linked to your smartphone's GPS locator, and there are multiple available pre-set destination buttons which you can program, rather than inputting the address into the search field each time.
Facedrive is marketed as an environmentally conscious option when needing a lift. There are no all-gas or diesel vehicles operating at all. If you book an electric ride, the trip is cheaper thanks to the justification of not wasting or using fuel. In general, the fares are cheaper than Uber and the drivers are treated with much more dignity as well, earning 80% of the fare as well as keeping 100% of the tips they earn.[1]
One bonus environmental initiative the company provides to attract clients is, for every kilometre travelled in a Facedrive vehicle, you earn points towards the company planting a tree on your behalf.[2]
