History[edit]

From the 2014/2015 academic year, the Faculty of Law started work at the faculties of the MSU.[1]

Activities[edit]

Although the youngest member of the faculties of MSU, the Faculty of Law has signed agreements for cooperation and practice with the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Macedonia, with the Chamber of Executives of the Republic of Macedonia and with the Chamber of Notaries of the Republic of Macedonia , and cooperation agreements with many other state institutions are being prepared.[1]

First cycle of studies[edit]

According to 2022, the Faculty of Law has accredited four-year studies Legal Studies. Upon completion of three-year studies, the student acquires the professional title of graduate lawyer. The study program of the first cycle of legal studies, i.e. the undergraduate studies, lasts for four years (eight semesters) and covers the study of 42 courses that carry 240 credits.[2]

After completing the three-year general studies, the student can choose one of the modules offered by the faculty. Elective modules are intended for students who intend to continue their legal education and engage in a specialized legal profession. The student can continue his education in one of the five specialized directions in the fourth year of studies, that is to win an additional 60 ECTS. The study programs last one year (two semesters) and upon their completion, together with the first cycle, after a total of 240 credits have been acquired and the defense of the final thesis, the student acquires the professional title of "graduated lawyer".[3]

Second cycle of studies[edit]

Study programs for postgraduate legal studies of the second cycle (postgraduate master's studies) are intended for students who wish to continue their legal education and engage in a specialized legal profession. The student can continue his education in one of the five specialized directions distributed in the fifth year of studies, i.e. win 60 EKTS credits and acquire the appropriate professional title "Master of Law" in the specific field.[4]

At the Faculty of Law, there are currently 5 postgraduate study programs available:

  • Administrative law and public administration
  • Civil rights
  • Criminal law
  • International law, EU law and diplomacy
  • Finance and business law
