Fadi Hakim is a Canadian/Palestinian restaurateur, writer, and producer. He is known for owning Canada’s biggest comic book publisher Comic House (formerly Chapterhouse), as well as owning and operating Lev Gleason Publications..[1]

Career[edit]

Restaurateur[edit]

As a restaurateur Hakim has owned, opened, and operated various establishments downtown Toronto such as The Lakeview Restaurant with Daniel Greaves[2], The Great Hall with Nav Sangha[3], The Haifa Room[4], The Jean Darlene with Mark Holmes, and The Abbott Café[5]. Hakim often supports local independent film productions to be shot at his establishments by allowing them to shoot for free.[6]

Comic Books[edit]

In 2015, Hakim founded Comic House (previously Chapterhouse) and serves as active CEO. Among their most popular titles are Captain Canuck with writer Jay Baruchel[7], Silverstreak, Daredevil, and hundreds of other original titles. Under the umbrella of Lev Gleason Publications[8], Hakim oversees all activity in publishing, acquisitions, and film development / production, and was executive producer for Captain Canuck animated series.

Producing[edit]

In addition to writing and producing his own work, Hakim continues to produce and develop both animated and live-action projects such as Fantomah, Captain Canuck, and Going In through Lev Gleason Studios[9]
