Fahim Ahmed is a Bangladeshi business executive known for his leadership roles in the technology and finance sectors. He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Pathao the largest digital platform for ride-sharing, food delivery, and e-commerce logistics in Bangladesh and Nepal.
Early Life and Education[edit]
Fahim Ahmed achieved the highest academic honors, graduating with distinction from Middlebury College in Vermont, USA, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics. Additionally, he holds membership in the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
Career[edit]
Fahim Ahmed possesses more than 19 years of expertise in finance, private equity, venture capital, investment banking, technology, and operations. He began his career as an investment banker in the Tech Media & Telecom (TMT) department at Goldman Sachs & Co in New York. He later served as a private equity investor at Royal Bank of Scotland and American Securities, a leading middle-market private equity firm based in New York.
Before joining Pathao, Fahim held the position of Managing Director at Small Enterprise Assistance Funds (SEAF), a worldwide impact investment firm that offers capital to developing businesses in emerging markets. At SEAF, he led several successful investments and exits in the technology, business services, renewable energy, and transportation sectors in Bangladesh and neighboring markets in South Asia.
Fahim Ahmed joined Pathao in early 2018 as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In 2020, he took on additional responsibilities and was promoted to President, where he led the operations, growth, and strategic direction of the company. On 1 November 2021, Pathao appointed Fahim Ahmed as its Managing Director & CEO.[1]

Fahim Ahmed currently serves as the Vice President (Finance) of Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) and as the Convenor of the Standing Committee on Information Technology of the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI). Also he has joined as an advisor of Primeasia University in 2022.[2]
