Fahman Abyan Club (Arabic: نادي فحمان أبين) is a Yemeni football club based in Abyan Governorate.
Story
The club was founded in 1969.[1] In the 2002/03 season, the club was still in the third division,[2] and played in the 2006 season at least once in the second division.[3] The club found itself there again in the 2013 season.[4] For the 2014/15 season, the first promotion to the top division of the country succeeded.[5]
Due to the military intervention in 2015, this season was canceled. In the following years there was no real game operation, apart from a few smaller tournaments. The club was also able to win some of them.[6][7][8] With the YFA Tournament 2019/20, a nationwide tournament took place for the first time. In its local group, however, the club failed to qualify for the playoffs.[9] The 2021 season ended in second place in the main round, taking part in the playoffs. Here the club had to go to penalties in the semifinals and later in the final, which was successfully completed in both cases. The team thus won the first championship title in the club's history.[10][11]
