"Faint" is a 15-second long American television commercial produced by Mars, Incorporated to promote M&M's. It debuted in December 1996 and has since aired annually each Holiday season, making it the longest-running television commercial for the M&M's brand, and one of the longest-running television commercials in general. The advertisement has been slightly updated since its original airing to alter the "Happy Holidays" message in the ending shot.
Sequence[edit]
The advertisement opens with the Red and Yellow M&M's mascots walking into a living room, presumably their own, to put out a bowl of red and green M&M's candy pieces for Santa Claus. Yellow asks Red if he thinks Santa would enjoy eating them, to where Red responds saying he's never met him. At that moment, they turn around and see Santa leaving presents under their tree, causing Red to yell in shock, "He does exist!" Santa, also shocked, says "They do exist." Both Red and Santa faint, leaving Yellow standing confused with his bowl.
Sequel[edit]
A sequel to the advertisement was created on November 28, 2017, following directly where the original ad left off. It depicts Yellow taking on Santa's duty of delivering presents after realizing he's out cold.[1]
