History
FairCom was founded by William L. Fairman in 1979 in Columbia, Missouri. [4] [5]
FairCom was one of the first companies to offer a commercial package using B+tree indexing. Its c-tree Plus database was also one of the first three databases to be supported by Microsoft Dynamics. [6] The company's flagship product is c-treeACE, which was originally released as c-tree in 1983, before becoming c-tree Plus in 1990. The company changed the product name to c-treeACE with the release of version 9 in 2008. c-treeACE is currently on version 11.5 [7] The company launched its family of c-treeRTG data management solutions for COBOL and Btrieve in 2013, with version 2 released in 2016. [8] The c-treeEDGE IoT Database was launched in conjunction with the announcement that FairCom joined the PTC Partner Network in 2018. [9] c-treeEDGE V2 was launched in 2019. [10]
In 2014[11] and 2015[12], FairCom was named to Gartner’s Operational Database Magic Quadrant as a top niche player. Gartner categorizes FairCom's c-treeACE technology as a DBMS with NoSQL and SQL interfaces with a long history of stability and innovation.[12]
