FairCom Corporation

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

FairCom Corporation is a privately held software development company that specializes in database management systems. The company was founded in 1979 by Bill Fairman, and is based in Columbia, Missouri, U.S.A.[1] Currently, the company also has offices in Sao Paulo (Brazil), Salt Lake City (U.S.A.) and Bergamo, Italy. Fairman was CEO and President until 1992 when Ray Brown assumed the titles that he still holds today. The State of Missouri recognized FairCom in 2004 for its 25-year anniversary.[2]

FairCom's flagship product is the c-treeACE database, which is currently available in Version 11.5. The c-treeACE is a relational database management system that is written in C and C++. IT consulting firm Gartner named FairCom to the Operational Database Magic Quadrant in 2014.[3] At the time, c-treeACE was the only database that FairCom offered. FairCom announced in September 2018 that Verizon named c-treeACE the winner of the Verizon Intelligent Network Control Platform Transaction Server Migration – In-Memory Database contract. [4]

FairCom announced a new product in June 2018: the c-treeEDGE IoT Database.[5] c-treeEDGE is built with the same technology that powers c-treeACE, but is specifically for data management in edge computing situations. At the same time c-treeEDGE launched, it was announced that PTC had added FairCom to its Partner Network and that the c-treeEDGE Extension for the the ThingWorx IoT platform was available in the PTC MarketPlace.[6] DB-Engines Ranking classify c-treeACE and c-treeEDGE as multimodel databases.[7]

FairCom also produces c-treeRTG, a data management product for COBOL and other legacy systems. [8]
