Advocate Faiz Syed (12 December 1979) is an Indian Islamic scholar from Aurangabad, Maharashtra.[1] He is a Muslim intellectual, educationalist and reform leader in India, and the founder and president of the Islamic Research Centre, Aurangabad.
Early life and education[edit]
Born in 1979, to Azam Ali Syed & Aliya Fatima in Aurangabad, Maharashtra he received early education from Burhani National English High School, Aurangabad, India. After school Syed was a part of Maulana Azad College of Arts Science & Commerce, Aurangabad, India for B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science in Computers). Soon he joined Tom Patrick Institute of Computer & Information Technology, Aurangabad, India for his completion of M.C.A (Master of Computer Application). He became an advocate soon after passing his preliminary exam B.G.L (Bachelor of General Laws) from Dr. Ambedkar College of Law, Aurangabad, India, he also passed his LL.B (Bachelor of Laws) from the same college. He also completed M.A Islamic Studies (MAIS) from Maulana Azad National Urdu University Hyderabad.

Socio-religious activism[edit]
A very popular Islamic Urdu Speaker on contemporary issues, Faiz Syed has been associated actively with many social, religious and charitable organizations in India. In one of his speeches, he "railed against Muslim women who do not allow their husbands to take a second wife",[2] and in another he argued that transgender individuals (or hijras) have "physiological and hormonal difficulties", that they are "dirty", and that "you must get rid of from your home, house and village".[3] He later "clarified" his remarks and said that hijras are "human beings with equal rights", and that he was only talking about "intersex hijras – not other transgender, gay or lesbian people".[4]
