Fallon Sousa
Fallon Sousa, confirmed as Fallon Rose Thérèse Sousa, is an American actress (known for her stage work in plays such as One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest.[1], and as a background actor on The Society[2] ) as well as a former author who was born on November 5, 1995[3] in Fall River, Massachusetts[4] to AnnMarie (née Pacheco) Sousa, a part-time publicist, and Richard C. Sousa[5], a union contractor and firefighter. She was raised Catholic and attended private, parochial schools from 2001 until 2014. It was there and under her mother's guidance that she discovered her love of writing and acting. In February 2003, she was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, but it did not deter her from graduating high school in the top 10% of her class,[6] with scholarship offers to nearly two dozen universities. However, instead of pursuing college, she wrote several novels from 2013 to 2017,[7] under her real name despite warnings from family, mostly in the erotic genre. After a personal revelation and health scares related to her epilepsy made her reevaluate her life and lifestyle choices, she took up acting classes at Trinity Repertory Company, and soon became a member of the Spectrum Theatre Ensemble[8], a professional theatre group in the Providence-Warwick, Rhode Island area comprised of mostly people on the autism spectrum.
Early Life[edit]
Fallon was born in Southeastern Massachusetts in 1995 to parents of mostly Azorean-American descent. She attended Espirito Santo School from 2001 until 2010 and subsequently graduated from Bishop Connolly High School in 2014[9]. During her senior year and for a few years following, she became an independent author[10][11].[12] While in middle school, she had played the role of Jeanette Isabella in her school's Christmas production, and she also played the role of a cop with no lines in Clue when she was 17. She briefly became internet famous on Tumblr the following summer, under an alias. Fallon struggled socially in academia, and to date has not achieved a college degree.
Career[edit]
After deciding to give up writing and taking a break from social media,[13] Fallon signed up for acting classes at 22, and eventually joined Spectrum Theatre Ensemble, where she has been a part of several projects since. Aside from writing and acting, Fallon also released her only single "Heart of a Dreamer" [14]in 2017,[15] which was not a commercial success. On August 29, 2019, she appeared on an episode of Topic Time with Harrison Young[16][17], which was shot in Easton, Massachusetts.
Personal Life[edit]
Sousa struggles not only with seizures, but also with her mental health, and her mother suffers from Multiple Sclerosis, which influences her outlook on life. Fallon is open and canded about mental health awareness, social justice, addiction related issues, and women's reproductive rights. She identifies as bisexual[18]
Health[edit]
Aside from Asperger’s, Fallon has definitive diagnoses of ADHD, temporal lobe epilepsy, and Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
[19] She has been assessed as possibly having other mental and physical illnesses but her doctors are less confident in whether she has those conditions, due to overlapping of symptoms.
