Review[edit]
- Bollywood Bubble - (4/5 Star) A shoddy crime drama that makes you question your sanity[9]
- Indian Express - (3/5 Star) For an effective film, you need both plot and treatment. Family of Thakurganj has neither, and a solid ensemble cast is let down, once again, by inept handling.[10]

The film was released theatrically on 19 July.[8]
Reception[edit]
Aaj Tak praised the performance, said "The mood of Family of Thakurganj is funny and this movie never seems tired due to the good punch lines. One particular thing to do with this film is that its star cast is good enough to be successful in entertaining the audience."[17]
Archika Khurana of The Times of India praised the performance of ensemble, but felt that plot was weak and length was problematic, so their performance was wasted. She opined, "With a decent concept at hand, had the director focused on keeping the story tight, it could have engaged the viewers, even the humour and the one-liners don’t help in keeping the film afloat."[1] Shubhra Gupta writing for The Indian Express felt that the film neither had plot nor treatment and handling was unskilful. She opined that the film was a tired retread on all counts, and agreed with Khurana, that the efforts of so many good actors were wasted.[18]
