Famous Four Media is an Internet services company based in Gibraltar. The company holds interests across approximately 80 businesses including fund management, domain name registry, intellectual property, media and e-commerce.
History[edit]
Iain Roache founded Famous Four Media in 2011 to participate in ICANN's new generic top-level domain (gTLD) program. After the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) revealed who had applied for which gTLD names in what is expected[1] to become the largest expansion in the history of the Internet's Domain Name System, first announced in 2011,[2]
Iain Roache was the secondary contact of 11 new GTLD applications to ICANN.[3] and Geir Rasmussen was the primary contact for 60 of Famous Four Media's gTLD applications.[4]
Famous Four Media has 12 uncontested[5] gTLDs.

In August 2012, Roache and Famous Four Media were named as defendants in a civil lawsuit alleging it failed to fulfill contractual obligations in respect of an application for the .BIM registry, and fraudulent misrepresentation of the company.[18] The suit also names Domain Venture Partners PCC Limited, whose applications for all 61 TLDs were filed in conjunction with Famous Four Media through various subsidiary names.[19] On 16 August 2013 the case was dismissed with prejudice. [20] [21] [22]
In June 2013 Famous Four Media launched Governance Councils for all the 60 gTLDs that they had applied for, inviting participation from the different affinity groups represented by the gTLDs.[23]
